It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her latest masterpiece.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the case for the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it's been a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there the batsman was underway.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was out Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the last competing nations at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.
